Suppan roughed up in Storm Chaser loss

Another night, another 10 runs for the Isotopes. They downed the Storm Chasers last night in Albuquerque 10-6.

Jeff Suppan got the start for Omaha and gave up 7 earned runs in 4.0 innings – including two home runs to Albuquerque second baseman Justin Sellers, who isn’t exactly known for his power. He had 31 home runs as he entered his seventh season of minor league baseball this year.

Irving Falu played right field again, taking over for David Lough who is day-to-day after he and Paulo Orlando collided in right center field on Thursday night.

Eric Hosmer continued his hot streak, going 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Johnny Giavotella, the Storm Chasers’ new second baseman this season, was 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Mike Moustakas committed two more errors at third base (he’s committed three errors in the first two games of the season) – both of them throwing. While there is some cause for concern, the season is still early.

Reliever Luis Mendoza gave up one earned run in two innings of work. He also walked three.

Relievers Jesse Chavez and Louis Coleman each threw a perfect inning, combining to strike out five hitters.

Danny Duffy is scheduled to go up against Randy Keisler tonight in Albuquerque at 8:05.
